Great Man-Made River Project Phase One Water Utilization Authority Benghazi, Libya
PROJECT SUMMARY
The Project comprise of one main underground ductile iron pipeline with associated chambers of approximately (83) km, with a diameters ranges from 1400mm to 250mm. carrying out approximately (2183) l/sec water for irrigation purposes.
The project area comprises (738) farms distributed on (9) agricultural fields, each farm contains (250) cubic meter circular reinforced concrete tank.
The underground irrigation networks with associated chambers are approximately 380 km long with diameters ranges from 450mm to 63mm.
NHEC scope of engineering services includes:
o Hydraulic analysis for the main pipeline and distribution network.
o Main pipeline and distribution network plan & profile
o Chambers structural design and calculations.
o Wadi protection detail designs.
o Preparation of tender documents including working drawings, specifications, general and special conditions, bill of quantities and cost estimates for all engineering disciplines.
